Aldi has cut the price of over 30 household grocery items as it looks to keep offering its customers value for money.

Shoppers at the discount grocer will now see prices reduced on fresh produce such as apples, oranges and peaches.

Other essentials including butter, spread, canned food, personal hygiene products and pet treats are also included in the latest price drop, where items have fallen by an average of 7%.

Aldi has slashed over 130 prices in the past two months across its entire range.

Aldi UK managing director of buying Julie Ashfield said: “Our promise is that we will always offer the lowest grocery prices and we’re doing everything we can to pass savings on to our customers.

“As Britain’s cheapest supermarket, shoppers are switching to Aldi from every other supermarket
