Allders to have five designers

Allders chief executive Terry Green plans to introduce a stable of approximately five designers at Allders by spring. Green, busy this week with the£10 million relaunch of Clapham Junction's Arding & Hobbs store as Allders, aims to emulate the success of Designers at Debenhams - an initiative originally developed by him. The new designers will produce diffusion ranges in clothing and home. Green denied speculation that he planned to poach any of the Designers at Debenhams names, saying that there is plenty of alternative talent available. 'You have a prestigious, aspirational brand on your hands if you've chosen the right designer,' he said. Allders also launched ten new fashion own-brands this week.
