Amazon has expanded its Buy with Prime service, a direct-to-consumer facility offering to include Adidas this year.

Buy with Prime is so far only available for US-based Prime members and was launched with the aim of helping direct-to-consumer merchants “overcome challenges” with gaining new customers.

It offers fast, free delivery, easy returns and round the clock shopper support, with customers able to explore brands beyond the Amazon store using their Prime membership.

From spring, customers can browse Prime-eligible items on Adidas’ website and via the Adidas app. When checking out, shoppers can log in to their Amazon account and verify their Prime membership. Amazon then fulfils the Prime eligible items in the order.

Amazon said Buy with Prime helps increase shopper conversion with an average 16% rise in revenue per shopper. It also found 50% of Prime members are more likely to repeat purchases from direct-to-consumer sites that offer Prime shopping benefits.

Buy with Prime and Amazon multi-channel fulfilment vice president Peter Larsen said: “Expanding Buy with Prime to Adidas’ website and the adidas app is like lacing up a fresh pair of sneakers, it just feels right.

“We’re excited to give Prime members the added convenience of using the shopping benefits they already know and love on the website and the Adidas app.”
