Online platform TikTok Shop has reported its best-performing Christmas trading period to date as appetite for discovery commerce continues to grow, Retail Week can reveal.

In the UK, TikTok Shop recorded a 55% year-on-year increase in sales in the month of December, with live shopping sales up almost 50% in this period too.

The number of active sellers on the platform also grew by more than 60% in the final quarter of 2025 compared with the last quarter in the year previous.

November was also a standout month as shoppers sought out seasonal offers, and this continued throughout December.

Momentum built across the golden quarter, supported by a significant surge in new seller adoption and heightened consumer engagement with live shopping events.

A spokesperson told Retail Week: “This sustained performance underscores the unique position of TikTok Shop in the retail landscape, where entertainment and commerce converge to drive real business impact.

“Looking ahead, TikTok Shop remains committed to investing in a safe, entertaining, and seamless commerce ecosystem.

“The platform continues to innovate and support its community of merchants and creators, ensuring TikTok Shop remains a trusted destination for discovery and growth in the UK market.”
