Group sales fell 5.5% to £677.5m for the 53 weeks to 4 March 2023 (FY2022), as revenue declined in both the financial services and retail divisions, reflecting “challenging online market conditions”. Total retail sales fell 6.9% to £433.4m. N Brown swung into the red with statutory pre-tax losses of £71.1m. CEO Steve Johnson said: “Although volumes softened, we maintained a disciplined approach to trading, with a particular focus on upholding margin despite a promotional backdrop.”
