Frasers Group has increased its stakes in fashion retailer N Brown and electricals retailer Currys in a continued shopping spree for Mike Ashley’s retail empire.

A purchase of shares took Frasers’ holding in N Brown from 17.6% to more than 18%, according to a statement published on the London Stock Exchange.

Frasers Group first acquired a stake in N Brown, which owns brands including JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacamo, in October 2022. It is now the second-largest shareholder in the group behind the Alliance family.

Earlier this week, Frasers also revealed it had upped its stake in electricals retailer Currys from 10.4% to 11.1%. It first acquired a stake in the electricals retailer in June.

This follows a recent string of acquisitions for Frasers as it snapped up stakes in retailers including AO and Boohoo, while also upping its stake in Asos three times in two weeks.
