Upmarket Northern grocer Booths is rolling out loyalty prices for customers, as it launches a “fundamental” revamp of its rewards programme.

The retailer has announced it is slashing prices on roughly 300 of its own-label lines, The Grocer reported.
However, Booths cardholders will be able to access more permanent discounts and offers, including 10% off of four bottles of wine and three-for-£15 meat deals.
Managing director Nigel Murray said across the offers and discounts, customers could expect a 10% price cut on average. Murray said the changes to loyalty pricing were a result of Booths wanting to do more to reward its most loyal shoppers.
Loyalty cardholders previously received 5% back on purchases of selected products with paper vouchers usable in-store.
The first 300 items chosen for price reductions are across Booths’ own-label lines that the retailer said its customers purchase most often such as vegetables, strawberries and fillet steaks.
While the retailer is modernising its loyalty scheme, Booths has been a an outlier for the industry in other areas. It axed its self-service checkouts in 2023 in all but two of its stores, reportedly to cater to customer demand for more staff.
