Currys’ earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) dropped slightly in the UK, attributed to higher employment costs, but was offset by strong performance in its Nordics business.

The technology retailer and services provider saw like-for-like revenue gains of 4% year on year across both its UK and Ireland and Nordics markets in the six months to November 1, 2025.
This helped drive group adjusted profit before tax of £22m, up 144% year on year, and adjusted EBIT of £54m, a rise of £13m on the same period in 2024.
The strong showing came despite a slight fall in EBIT margin in the UK and Ireland, which Currys attributed to “government-driven increases in colleague costs”. A £17m jump in adjusted EBIT in the Nordics more than made up for the challenges in its home market.
Chief executive Alex Baldock said: “In the Nordics, being the clear leader in an improving market, combined with strong execution, has driven another notable step forward in profits. It’s pleasing that strong top-line growth is translating into improved profitability.
“In the UK&I, the consumer environment is more muted and cost headwinds are unhelpful. Still, we’re the growing market leader, gaining share, and our margin and cost discipline is going a long way to mitigate headwinds and protect profits.”
Currys’ moves beyond traditional retail have continued to help drive growth in the UK and Ireland. The retailer reported 11% growth in recurring service revenue. A third of its big-box deliveries now include installation, with 36.2% including recycling.
The retailer also reported a 23.3% rise during the period of adoption of its credit schemes. It said this had translated to a base of 2.8 million credit customers, with sales of half a billion during the period.
Also notable was a 16% rise in sales by its B2B division. Currys is targeting small businesses in the hope of doubling B2B sales in three years.
It added that early trading in the six weeks since November 1 was in line with expectations, and its guidance for the full year was unchanged.
