Currys boss Baldock looks ahead with confidence after ‘strong peak trading’

“If anyone was expecting more gloom today, I’m afraid we can’t provide that because we’re feeling pretty pleased with some strong peak trading and an upgrade in our profit expectations,” Currys chief executive Alex Baldock said this morning.

It was a strong performance. The electricals giant reported total like-for-like sales growth of 6% in the 10 weeks to January 10 and expects full year group adjusted profit before tax to grow 11-17% to be between £180m and £190m.
