The Range and Wilko, both parented by CDS Superstores, are calling on landlords to support its acceleration of nationwide store openings.

Both retailers are looking to continue their rollouts across the UK and are “urgently” seeking new units.

CDS has opened 55 new The Range superstores as well as new Garden Centres by Homebase, Kitchens by Homebase, and Bathrooms by Bathstore across hundreds of The Range stores.

It is now looking for new retail opportunities for both The Range and Wilko and invited landlords and property owners to come forward with potential sites.

CDS is looking for city centres and strong towns for its Wilko stores, in the range of 20,000 and 25,000 sq ft, across strong footfall locations. It added that shopping centres are preferred, and units “requiring amalgamation” will be considered.

For The Range stores, it’s looking for out-of-town retail units ranging from 25,000-60,000 sq ft, freehold or leasehold, with development sites of joint ventures considered.

CDS Superstores head of property Antony Darbyshire said: “Demand for our retail brands has never been stronger and we’ve been gearing up for growth, investing in our operational infrastructure including our warehousing and transport.

“At a time when other retailers are slowing down, we’re bucking the trend, investing heavily in bringing leading retail experiences to even more communities, and we’re calling on landlords, developers and agents to work with us to unlock the next wave of sites.”
