The Range said it has celebrated an “exceptional” start to the year and has completed the first phase of its former Homebase store conversions.

The discounter, which acquired Homebase and 70 of its former stores in November last year, said it has now transformed 55 of the former units into The Range superstores since the start of the year.

The new superstores feature its first ‘Garden Centre by Homebase’ concepts and ‘Kitchens by Homebase’ showrooms. The Range also plans to launch Homebase ‘Bathstore’ showrooms in selected stores.

The retailer said it has also expanded its partnership with Iceland to over 150 stores and invested millions into digital transformation over the last year.

CDS Superstores chief executive Alex Simpkin said: “We are incredibly proud of the progress we have made in transforming former Homebase stores into vibrant The Range superstores.

“This project has not only saved jobs but has also enhanced our offering to customers, providing them with a comprehensive shopping experience for all their home and garden needs.

“Our partnership with Iceland and the integration of Wilko own-brand items further demonstrate our commitment to convenience and quality. We look forward to continuing to serve our communities with excellence.”
