Kidswear retailer Pumpkin Patch has fallen into administration.

The 36 store retailer has appointed Deloitte as administrator.

Only the UK arm of the kidswear retailer is impacted by the administration. Its international and online operations continue to operate.

Five of the Pumpkin Patch’s stores have been closed while the remainder continue to trade. 60 staff have been made redundant.

Deloitte joint administrator, and partner in its restructuring team, Daniel Butters said: “Pumpkin Patch has suffered as a result of the unprecedented and prolonged downturn being experienced in the UK retail sector.  We will continue to trade the business while we explore all strategic options.

“We encourage all parties to remain supportive while we continue to trade the business, thus providing the best possible platform for us to preserve jobs and value for all creditors.”
