Administrators Interpath will review whether to continue trading from the 40 Quiz stores currently open at the end of April, provided no rescue deal can be reached in that time, Retail Week understands.

A source with an understanding of the situation said that Interpath plans to continue trading the 40 Quiz stores still open until the end of the month and has deepened its clearance sales ahead of the Easter Weekend.

However, should prospective buyers or a rescue deal not materialise by the end of April, the source said that Interpath will review whether it needs to close further stores and cut jobs, or possibly even wind the business up entirely.

As part of the deepening sale, all items in all stores will now be between 40% and 70% off the original price.

Alistair McAlinden, head of Interpath in Scotland and joint administrator, commented: “As we head into the busy Easter trading period, there are bargains to be had in-store for shoppers, with further discounts available on all remaining stock, including some new stock lines added.”

Geoff Jacobs, managing director at Interpath and joint administrator, added: “We’d once again like to pass on our sincere thanks to Quiz’s staff and loyal customers who have shown such support over the past few weeks.”

Quiz collapsed into administration in February, with over 100 jobs lost across the business.

Interpath said that over the last year, Quiz had “experienced challenging trading conditions” and despite reporting stronger than expected sales through to the end of September 2025, a disappointing Christmas period was the final straw.

It added: “The directors worked tirelessly to explore options to safeguard the future of Quiz, including efforts to source funding. However, with no solvent solutions available, they took the difficult decision to place these companies into insolvency.”
