The administrators of Quiz Clothing have said that it will begin a phased closure plan for the stricken retailer’s 37 stores, resulting in the loss of 360 jobs.
Interpath said it anticipated that all stores would close in June, and noted that three stores in Belfast, Leeds and Romford have already been shuttered.
The administrators said all remaining Quiz stock is now “in the process of being delivered to those stores that remain open and is selling fast”.
Alistair McAlinden, head of Interpath in Scotland and joint administrator, said: “As we head into the May bank holiday weekend, we would encourage shoppers to visit their local store as we commence our final closing down Sale.”
Geoff Jacobs, managing director at Interpath and joint administrator, added: “We’d once again like to say a huge thank you to Quiz staff who have shown such dedication and professionalism under difficult circumstances.”
Quiz collapsed into administration on February 5 with the loss of 109 jobs. Interpath said at the time that 565 staff would be retained to help it trade through the business.
Quiz blamed its collapse on “challenging trading conditions” over the last year, and despite reporting stronger than expected sales through to the end of September 2025, it said a disappointing Christmas trading period was the final straw.
The retailer also blamed “changing consumer habits, government Budget disruption around peak Black Friday trade, cost pressures from business rates and increases in national minimum wage and national insurance have proved challenging as widely reported across the retail sector” for its reversal in fortunes, after strong summer trading.
