Primark has cut down on the number of days staff in selected teams spend working from home.

The value fashion retailer has told staff in its product teams that they must be in the office four days a week from September.

The update, which comes into effect on September 15, applies to the retailer’s employees based at its Arthur Ryan House office in Dublin.

Product teams will still be able to work from home on Fridays and finish at 2pm, Drapers reported.

A Primark spokesperson told the publication: “After experiencing remote, hybrid, and full-time models in recent years, we will be reintroducing a four-day in-office work week for our product teams.

“We know that when our product teams are together in-person, it strengthens productivity, creativity and development, ultimately delivering the best offering for our customers.

“We understand how important balance is and we will continue to offer flexible working hours, and remote working on Fridays with a 2pm finish.”

Primark is the latest retailer to make changes to its hybrid working policy, with John Lewis telling its commercial teams this week to spend more than half their week in the office or on-site.
