Street takes over as Mayfield becomes chairman
The John Lewis Partnership has announced that director of personnel Andy Street is to replace Charlie Mayfield as managing director of its department stores. Street's promotion, which will take effect in February, follows Mayfield's move into the chairman's role that is being vacated by Sir Stuart Hampson.

Street, 43, has been a partner for 21 years and was previously supply chain director of John Lewis department stores. Prior to that he was managing director of the Milton Keynes and Bluewater stores.

Street said: 'I am very excited to have the opportunity to lead our department store business. I look forward to growing it and building on its excellent run of form.'
