Home shopping retailer expects sales to slow in second half though
Findel has reported sales growth of 16 per cent at its catalogue business for the six months to September 30.

Group sales increased by 14 per cent compared with the same period last year. The retailer said that estimates for its operating profit for the period were in line with its expectations. Broker Numis put sales at£98 million for the period and said the retailer had made considerable progress in reducing dependence on seasonal sales by widening its product range and increasing the size and frequency of its catalogues. Numis believes the retailer will achieve 15 per cent full-year sales growth at its home shopping division.

Findel said of its home shopping business: 'While the board does not expect this level of increase [16 per cent] to be maintained for the full year, it nevertheless expects a good performance from the division for the full year.'
