Matalan has hired Beccy Davis as its new people and talent director, poaching her from an IT services firm.
Davis will take up her new role this month and joins from Exertis UK, where she worked as its head of HR from November 2023 to September 2025.
She will report to the fashion brand’s chief people officer Alyson Fadil, and does have previous retail experience, having worked with the likes of Estée Lauder and Sofology, as well as Selfridges in her career.
In her new role, Davis will be responsible for overseeing Matalan’s people strategy across its shops, distribution centres and head office.
Davis said on LinkedIn: “After keeping this under wraps for a little while, I’m really pleased to share that I’ve joined Matalan as director of people and talent.
“Stepping into the role has been a proud moment in my career, coming back into a large retail business where people genuinely sit at the heart of everything.”
