Simon Wilson has been at Deichmann since 2012

Retail Week can confirm that Wilson will remain with the business until September 30 before leaving the business to pursue “other options outside the Deichmann Group”.

A spokeswoman for the brand said that “in future, the leadership will consist of Marko Josifoski (CEO) and Chris Holden (CFO). We wish all employees all the best for their new roles”.

Wilson has been with the retailer since 2012, when he joined as an international sales director based in Germany. He moved to the UK with Deichmann in 2014 as buying and marketing director and was named managing director of the brand in January 2023.

Wilson joined Deichmann from Lidl where he worked for over five years before he made the move into fashion.

Under Wilson, the UK arm of the German, family-owned footwear retailer reported a 14% increase in turnover from £121.7m to £139.1m for the full year to December 31, 2023.

Losses at the business also narrowed for the year, down from £3.25m last year to a net loss of £1.29m.

Deichmann said its online sales soared 14% during the year as it invested in the improvement of its brand awareness via its marketing channels.

The retailer has also been focusing on opening new stores in the UK.
