Space NK

Space NK is a luxury beauty retailer offering a highly selective range of well-known luxury and niche, innovative brands from all over the world.

Founded by Nicky Kinnaird in Covent Garden, London in 1993, Space NK brands itself as an “apothecary”. It stocks over 70 brands such as Nars, Laura Mercier and Aesop, with products ranging across skincare, cosmetics, gadgets and wellbeing.

Its tagline claims it is “the ultimate destination for beauty discovery”.

The retailer targets affluent shoppers and that is reflected in its securing of stores in well-heeled areas. Space NK has over 60 stores across the UK and Ireland, five concessions in Harvey Nichols, and over 30 stores in the US, including boutiques in Bloomingdales and Nordstrom.

While its UK stores drives most of its sales, Space NK is increasingly focusing on its ecommerce channel, which reportedly accounts for nearly a quarter of UK sales. It aims to develop a personalised experience for mobile and desktop.

Space NK became a Manzanita Capital Ltd company in 2002.
