Chesterbridge and Broadway Malyan draw up £63m plan for Kilkenny

Chesterbridge Developments and Broadway Malyan architects have drawn up plans for a mixed-use development at Kilkenny in Ireland.

The£100 million (£63 million) project will redevelop a 4 ha site around Kilkenny railway station, with retail, leisure and housing provision.

Broadway Malyan said its design is inspired by successful developments in other medieval cities, such as York. It aims to give a new lease of life to a number of heritage buildings, such as the Old Kilkenny Work House.

A planning application will be submitted by the end of this year.
