Stock goes up in flames
A massive fire has destroyed the main UK warehouse of value fashion retailer Primark. Although it caused no injuries, the fire consumed all of the warehouse's stock.

Fire fighters were called to the scene, off junction 20 of the M1, at 7pm last night. The blaze gutted the group's 440,000 sq ft (40,880 sq m) Leicestershire distribution facility and destroyed a 'large quantity of fashion clothing', according to the fire service. The roof collapsed during the blaze and the cause is as yet unknown.

'It was devastating for the company and the people that work there,' said a Leicestershire fire service spokesman. 'Everything was totally destroyed, the building and its contents.'

TNT, the company that manages the warehouse, has sourced another centre on the same estate and Primark hopes to be operating from there by Monday.
