Sneaker brand Asics is to open a flagship store on Oxford Street in time for the Olympics.

The brand will open the 7,000 sq ft shop on one of the busiest high streets in the world over the summer.

The shop will anchor a new three-store scheme at 527-533 Oxford Street, situated between South Audley Street and Marble Arch.

Ciaran McDonnell, managing director of Developer Korine Property Partners, which owns the scheme, said Asics “is the perfect tenant to take advantage of our large format floor space”.

Toby Comerford, partner at joint letting agent Cushman & Wakefield, said the development has “significantly improved this southern section of the street”. He added:  “The opening of Asics will further increase the appeal to other retailers.”

Joint leasing agent Jonathan Eastwood said:  “We expect this letting to strengthen this part of Oxford Street’s appeal to occupiers and consumers.”
