Supermarket turns up the heat on Woolworths and Argos
Asda is slashing Christmas prices in an effort to turn up the heat on rivals, such as Woolworths and Argos.

The supermarket claims it is firing the first shots in the Christmas price war, by cutting the prices on 40 top games, including Cluedo, Guess Who? and Buckaroo.

The price cuts under the Asda Rollback programme mean that the supermarket's toy range will be up to 30 per cent cheaper than rivals such as Toys R Us.

Asda's move will be bad news for Woolworths, which said it was relying on Christmas trading to aid its recovery as it unveiled interim loses last month.
