The app has also had successful debuts in the Nordics and Germany

The customer club forms part of the retailer’s omnichannel strategy, which it said will provide a “key element in understanding customer preferences, delivering an even better customer experience, rewarding loyalty and ensuring marketing efforts are more targeted and personalised”.

It launches today (November 18) in the UK and customers that sign up to the app will be rewarded with 10% to 20% discounts, which can be applied to in-store purchases.

First introduced in its native Denmark, the app has also had successful debuts in the Nordics and Germany since June. It will eventually be rolled out to 36 markets in total.

Flying Tiger Copenhagen senior vice president for customer and digital Andre Filomeno said: “In 2023, we had around 100 million customers across our markets, and the majority of transactions happen in physical stores. However, we are rolling out a number of initiatives to improve the experience, whether customers interact with us in the stores or digitally.

“Therefore, we are enhancing our customer experience across all platforms, making the new app a valuable addition to all of our channels and a key foundation of our omnichannel approach.”

He added on LinkedIn:  “The UK has always been one of our most significant markets, and today it stands as one of our best performing. With its vibrant retail landscape and highly engaged customers, it’s the perfect fit for our new customer club app.

“Following successful launches in the Nordic countries and Germany, this rollout underscores our commitment to enhancing the shopping experience and marks a key step in strengthening our omnichannel approach while rewarding our most loyal customers with clear benefits.”

It was also announced last week that Flying Tiger Copenhagen will arrive in Australia for the first time, opening its first two stores at Stockland shopping centres in Wetherill Park and Shellharbour on December 7.

It plans to open three more stores across New South Wales next year.
