Evri is undergoing a huge recruitment drive across the UK as demand for parcels continues.

The delivery company is hiring 2,500 roles in the UK. Evri said this rounds off a period of “significant growth” following a merger with DHL ecommerce UK and acquisitions of Coll-8 and UK Mail.

Parcel volumes increased 12% to 425 million in the 26 weeks to August 30, and is a main factor in the new roles across head corporate functions, couriers, depot and hub roles, and Evri Premium roles.

The hiring drive also follows the relaunch of Evri’s initiative “Evri Plus”, which allows self-employed couriers access to benefits such as 28 days paid holiday, pension contributions, parental leave, and a guaranteed national minimum wage.

The pay for couriers is an average of £20.86 per hour and they can access free services such as Digital GP and Physio, retail discounts, and participation in Evri’s ‘Go Electric’ scheme, which gives up to £3,300 towards an electric vehicle over two years.

Evri Group chief executive Martijn de Lange said: “We continue to deliver phenomenal growth at Evri, and none more so than within our hard-working courier network, who are truly the backbone of our business.

“At a time when many companies are reducing headcount and unemployment is growing, we’re proud to be creating thousands of opportunities and leading the way with initiatives like Evri Plus.”
