Sephora has opened the doors to its highly anticipated new flagship store in the UK at Westfield London.

Spread across 6,000 sq ft, the new shop offers products from over 135 brands across categories such as skincare, makeup, haircare, fragrances, body and personalised gifting.

Shoppers can choose from a range of notable brands including Fenty Beauty, R.E.M. Beauty,  Dior, Tom Ford and Jo Malone, alongside Sephora’s own collection and exclusives such as Makeup by Mario, GXVE by Gwen Stefani, ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr, Vegamour and Skinfix.

The store opening comes five months after the launch of its UK website in October last year. The website was met with mixed reviews as users complained of several glitches and bugs.

Sephora UK managing director Sarah Boyd said: “We are very excited to open our first store in London, which is something we know our beauty community has been waiting for for many years.

“After the very successful launch of sephora.co.uk and our app last autumn, we have been inundated with questions about our plans to open stores.

“As the creator of multi-category, multi-experience prestige beauty retailing, we are thrilled to bring London a store that aspires to meet the needs of every beauty occasion.

“Our passionate hand-picked cast members will welcome all customers to a welcoming, vibrant, diverse and inclusive environment where all their imagination can roam free as they all discover their own personal extraordinary forms of beauty.”

Over the next five days, Sephora will also be using the new store to host talks, makeup workshops and masterclasses with beauty experts.

Sephora opened its first UK store in 2000 at the Bluewater shopping centre in Kent and went on to open a further six stores over the next five years. However, the brand was unable to break the hold on British consumers enjoyed at the time by the likes of Boots and Superdrug.

The return of Sephora is already causing shockwaves in the UK health and beauty market. In response, Boots opened its 170th new premium beauty hall in the same White City shopping centre in west London.
