Mulberry to open 1,466 sq ft pop-up at Gunwharf Quays designer outlet

Mulberry will open at Portsmouth’s Gunwharf Quays, operated and owned by Landsec, as the outlet focuses on continuing its premium offering.

The new 1,466 sq ft pop-up opens on October 16 and will house the brand’s products at the waterfront shopping space.

Everyday staples and gifting items will be on offer as Mulberry opens in time for peak trading.

Landsec saw a strong performance across its outlets from April to June this year as sales rose 11.2% in this period.

Shoppers are demanding premium brands at the outlet, and Landsec said the arrival of Mulberry will “build on this momentum” to provide easy access to the luxury brand.

The new signing arrives after a strong year of investment at Gunwharf Quays, with additions including Oliver Bonas, All Saints, Ralph Lauren, and Coach.

Landsec head of retail and hospitality leasing Pablo Sueiras told Retail Week: “We’re focused on elevating Gunwharf Quays as a destination for prime retail, and introducing Mulberry to The Avenues is a testament to its growing appeal as a platform for luxury brands.

“With consistent high footfall and our ongoing investment programme enhancing the surroundings, we’re creating the ideal environment for brands to connect with guests.

“We are currently seeing a rise in demand for luxury, and this pop-up is perfectly placed to cater to that trend.”
