Boots will launch a beauty-only store concept in Battersea Power Station

The health and beauty retailer is set to open an 11,200 sq ft, beauty-only store in the shopping centre later this year, featuring more than 250 cosmetics, skincare and haircare brands.

The “supersize beauty studio” will give customers a chance to try on products from new UK-exclusive brands and take advice from skin-specialist pharmacists and qualified dermatologists in store.

The new beauty brands will also be available on Boots.com at launch, available to customers across the country with click-and-collect at more than 1,600 stores.

The UK’s largest health and beauty retailer also said it will continue to invest in beauty halls, having rejuvenated more than 170 across the UK and Ireland – most recently in St Albans in Hertfordshire, White City in London, East Kilbride in South Lanarkshire, Grantham in Lincolnshire and Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire.

Boots’ market share in beauty has seen consistent growth over the last nine quarters, with a standout performance from the category in its latest result for the three months ending May 2023.

Beauty sales grew by 18% year on year for the period, with the biggest week for the category outside Christmas recorded in May.

Paul Niezawitowski, beauty director at Boots, said: “Our new beauty showcase solidifies Boots’ position as the UK’s number one beauty destination and marks the latest innovation under our ongoing beauty reinvention programme.

“Boots continues to prioritise investment in providing a market-leading beauty shopping experience, and this new beauty-only concept not only allows customers to be the very first to try new brands and products, but also provides a platform to launch new services that we know our customers will love.”
