A number of retailers will be vying with each other for the lucrative spin-off market with everything from action figures to pyjamas.
One of the claimants for the retailer with the most force is Woolworths.
Woolworths commercial director Jo Hall said: 'We have proved that we are a destination for licensed properties. We have the largest range of Star Wars products in the UK and we have been amazed by the appetite for the merchandise.'
