Ropemaker Properties, the property arm of the BP Pension Fund, is planning to rebrand one of the UK's highest-profile and most expensive retail pitches.
The pension fund owns the south side of London's Brompton Road between Harvey Nichols and Harrods.
It is using the opening of Zara's flagship fashion and homewares store in the area later this month to rebrand the location as 'Knightsbridge Central'.
In addition to the Zara letting, two other retailers have signed for stores in the estate. Luxury gifts and leather goods brand Tanner Krolle has taken a 2,785 sq ft (260 sq m) store on the corner of Sloane Street and Basil Street on an 11-year lease at£225,000 a year. This will be Tanner Krolle's fourth London store.
Meanwhile, Office Shoes has signed for a 2,335 sq ft (215 sq m) unit between Graff and Jane Norman on the south side of Brompton Road.
Ropemaker Properties portfolio manager Brian Tisdale said the rebranding was part of the landlord's strategy to increase Brompton Road's profile among its target catchment, which also included the introduction of new retailers to add vitality to the tenant mix.
'We have a number of other deals on the table, which will further strengthen the importance of Knightsbridge Central as London's premier district for shopping choice,' he said.
