Aquascutum returned to the West End today as it opened the doors to its Great Marlborough Street store after two years away from the heart of London’s retail scene.

Aquascutum returned to the West End today when it opened the doors to its Great Marlborough Street store after two years away from the heart of London’s retail scene.

The 4,456 sq ft store trades across the ground and first floors, showcasing the luxury retailer’s new modern store design. The shop sells menswear, womenswear and its new Junior children’s clothing range.

The luxury retailer has not traded a standalone store in the West End since it shut its Regent Street flagship in 2011 after 110 years on the site.

Aquascutum chief operating officer Mark Taylor said: “Returning to the West End provides the brand with a prime location for trading, and reinforces our fundamental objective; to maximise our presence within luxury retailing.”

The new shop takes Aquascutum’s UK estate to four and the retailer is continuing to search for more sites and a location for a flagship store.

Taylor added: “The addition of the store to our portfolio highlights the exciting period of growth that we are embarking on. We continue to search for more prime retail space in Greater London to add to our existing sites.”

Aquascutum was bought out of administration by YGM Trading for £15m last year.
