Property News - Bracknell lines up elite team for £500m revamp

Legal & General and Schroders Exempt Property Unit Trust have appointed a premier league team of advisers to handle the£500 million redevelopment of Bracknell town centre in Berkshire.

The Richard Rogers Partnership is the masterplan architect and Chapman Taylor will handle the retail elements of the scheme. At the same time, Stanhope has been appointed as lead development manager, while London & Amsterdam will be responsible for delivering the retail phases of the scheme.

Drivers Jonas is planning consultant, while Cushman & Wakefield Healey & Baker is development consultant.

The scheme will be developed in a number of phases. It will include an additional 604,625 sq ft (56,170 sq m) of new unit shops and department stores; 467,400 sq ft (43,420 sq m) of offices; 950 new homes; and 118,605 sq ft (11,020 sq m) of new leisure facilities, cafes and bars.

Work over the next few months will focus on development of the masterplan and preparation of a planning application.
