Seasalt chief information officer Mel Wilcox has stepped down from the brand after less than two years in the role.

Wilcox, who joined the fashion retailer specifically for the newly created role in June 2023, said she had stepped away from the brand “to seek new challenges and opportunities”, as first reported by Drapers.
She previously worked for four years at Specsavers – first as director of technology portfolio management and then as its technology director.
Wilcox also spent eight years working at Tesco across several roles including head of technology for its global online grocery division and head of portfolio management for global technology, product and data.
She also spent two years as head of IT service delivery at Ann Summers between 2009 and 2011.
In its most recent results, Seasalt reported “impressive sales” over Christmas – up 10% year on year over the five weeks to December 30, 2024.
Online sales grew 6% over the same period, while stores recorded a third consecutive Christmas of record sales.
Despite the strong performance at the end of 2024, Seasalt warned about the potential added “cost pressures” in 2025 stemming from last year’s Budget.
