Own-label lines help Allders to bump up sales

Allders' own-brand ranges are going down a storm at the retailer's Oxford Street flagship and have produced significant sales uplifts in the first week's trading.

Sources in-house said nine new labels had helped push sales up 30 per cent since the launch on October 16.

Bags, jewellery and shoes were among the star performers in a line-up that includes Zona, Miss Scarlett and C%L CHX. A final lingerie brand, Honey Trap, is expected in stores soon.

Allders boss Terry Green said the new stock was 'performing relatively well' and had broken Allders records, but warned of difficult trading in the sector.
