Hillarys has launched its first ‘home studio’ store format as the home furnishings retailer increases its focus on the customer experience.

The retailer has segmented the store into boutique product zones and re-jigged the layout, with its flooring ranges moved to the front.

The Blind Bar, Curtain Gallery, Shutter Gallery and Carpet Studio create what store designers Mynt Design dubbed “an easy to navigate and informative” retail space.

Customers at the store in Bristol can also speak to staff about design trends and interiors ideas for their homes.

New merchandising also gives shoppers easier access to different fabrics and textures, with central islands providing space to lay out samples.

Hillarys aims to roll out the new concept throughout the course of 2017.

Retail property agencies GCW and Innes England are advising the business on its property plans.
