Supermarket giant Morrisons has appointed a new board member as it shakes up its senior leadership team.

The retailer announced that it has appointed current group people and corporate services director Clare Grainger to its group board, starting May 1.

Grainger has been with the supermarket giant for over 16 years and will focus on strategic issues in her new part-time role. Morrisons said she would be offering the board her insight and extensive experience within the retailer.

Alongside the Grainger announcement, Morrisons said that it had promoted Jodie Keating to the role of group people director.

Keating has been at Morrisons for nearly 15 years and previously held the position of people director for operations.

Morrisons chief executive Rami Baitiéh said: “Our most important asset is our amazing colleagues, and both Clare and Jodie have dedicated their working lives to training, developing, and investing in people and talent at every level.

“I am so pleased that Clare will now bring her deep skills, experience, and strategic insights directly to the Morrisons board, and that Jodie’s huge contribution to Morrisons’ progress has been recognised with this well-deserved promotion to a critical group role.”
