Amazon’s recent partnership expansion means customers from more regions can order Iceland groceries

Amazon customers in Belfast, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Nottingham can now order Iceland groceries after expanding its partnership with the frozen food specialist.

The tech giant has expanded its partnerships with Iceland, Morrisons and the Co-op, after deciding last year that it would be winding down its bricks-and-mortar food business, in favour of doubling the number of Prime members with access to grocery deliveries.

Amazon customers can now shop groceries and essentials through Amazon.co.uk, Amazon Fresh, Whole Foods Market, and through its grocery partners and on-demand channels like GoPuff.

The retailer has also launched Amazon Now, its own on-demand delivery channel, delivering thousands of groceries and household essentials to customers in 30 minutes to eligible London postcodes.

“We’re continually working to give customers more choice, value and flexibility in how they shop for groceries,” said Russell Jones, director of Amazon Grocery Partnerships. “More customers across the UK can now choose from a wide range of Iceland groceries and household essentials, with a range of convenient, fast delivery options.”

Iceland Foods chief executive Tarsem Dhaliwal added: “This extension of our partnership with Amazon means that we can serve even more communities nationwide with Iceland’s quality products, all with the convenience of Amazon’s shopping experience. For Northern Ireland in particular, we’re proud to be the first grocery partner to offer a service like this through Amazon’s platform.”
