Discounter Aldi is opening applications for 500 apprenticeship roles, with jobs being made available across stores and warehouses in the UK.

Store apprentices earn £12.02 an hour, rising to £13.35. Apprentices working within the M25 start on £13.22 an hour, while warehouse roles can earn up to £12.63 an hour.
Aldi, the UK’s fourth-largest supermarket, is also the only one to offer its staff paid breaks, which it says are worth around £1,470 a year to each employee.
Aldi UK training and development director Lisa Murphy said: “We’ve built a strong track record of helping people launch their careers through our apprenticeship programme, and we’re excited to welcome the next cohort to team Aldi.
“This is a genuine opportunity to learn on the job, build valuable skills and earn market-leading pay – all while working for one of the UK’s biggest grocery retailers.
“We want to hear from people of all backgrounds, so if you’re interested, we’d really encourage you to apply, whatever your experience.”
Aldi’s latest apprenticeship drive comes after it recently increased the wages of its workforce, as part of a £36m investment since the start of the year.
From March 1, Aldi said it would be increasing starting pay for store assistants to £13.35 an hour nationally and £14.71 inside the M25.
Pay rates increase to £14.30 per hour and £15.03 within the M25, based on a staff member’s length of service.
The grocer also said it was enhancing its maternity pay offer, extending full pay to 26 weeks.
Aldi UK chief executive Giles Hurley said: “Our colleagues are at the heart of everything we do. Their hard work and dedication are what allow us to offer customers the quality, value and service they expect from Aldi. That’s why we’re making such a significant investment in our promise to never be beaten on pay for our colleagues.”
