The chief executive of lingerie specialist Bravissimo is stepping down from her role.

Bravissimo chief executive Leanne Cahill has announced her departure after more than seven years at the business.

The retailer said in a statement that her exit follows an internal restructuring within the business after it was acquired by underwear and swimwear manufacturer Wacoal Europe in September last year.

Chief executive Leanne Cahill departs from the business after a seven-year tenure

Bravissimo said the restructuring within the business “realigns the Bravissimo leadership team into the group management of parent company Wacoal Europe” for the future.

Cahill said of her departure: “I am so proud of every moment I’ve been part of Bravissimo and delivering our purpose to inspire confidence in our customers.

“I want to thank our amazing teams for everything they’ve achieved, and I wish them every success for the future.”

She also confirmed on LinkedIn that she is taking an “extended break” ahead of looking for her next move.

Bravissimo hailed Cahill’s “dedication” to both the company’s customer experience and improved profitability against an “incredibly challenging retail landscape” during her tenure.

Wacoal Europe boss Geoff Embley added: “We thank Leanne sincerely for her remarkable contribution, not only during her tenure as chief executive but also throughout Bravissimo’s acquisition into the Wacoal family where her guidance and support have been invaluable.

“As we look to the future, we remain committed to preserving what makes both Wacoal Europe and Bravissimo unique and successful.”

Bravissimo said its senior leadership will remain in their positions and now work with Wacoal Europe to “deepen collaboration and knowledge sharing” across the group.
