Asos has announced significant changes to its board leadership, with chair Jørgen Lindemann set to step down.

The fashion retailer announced Natasja Laheij is set to become the new chair following the company’s FY25 year-end results. William Barker has been appointed deputy chair with immediate effect.

Current chair Jørgen Lindemann, who has served in the role since August 2022, will step down at the end of his current term following a handover period.

Laheij, who joined the Asos board in April 2023 as an independent non-executive director, brings three decades of international commercial and financial management experience. She’s held senior roles at major tech companies including Amazon Fashion Europe and Google EMEA, as well as positions at Apple and Sony Ericsson.

Barker, who joined the board in September 2023, is founder and chief executive of California-based investment firm Camelot Capital Partners. He continues to waive his board fees for the new deputy chair position, which has been created to support strategic and operational initiatives.

José Manuel Martínez Gutiérrez will succeed Laheij as senior independent director, while the search for a new audit committee chair is underway.

Asos chief executive José Antonio Ramos Calamonte said: “I would like to extend my deepest thanks to Jørgen, whose support has been invaluable to Asos throughout his tenure on the board. I look forward to working closely with Natasja given her extensive governance experience, and with William given his knowledge of Asos and operational expertise as we continue to execute our strategy.”

Lindemann said: “It has been a privilege to serve on the Asos board over the last four years, throughout an incredibly important period for the business. I have valued the Asos board and Natasja, William and José’s insights and oversight during this time, and I am confident that we have the right leadership to deliver sustainable, profitable growth.”
