Warner Estate has started a three-stage refurbishment programme for the 32,500 sq m Port Arcades shopping centre at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire.
The investment is already attracting new tenants to the scheme, including Wilkinson, Mecca and Poundland.
Wilkinson has taken a new 2,600 sq m unit at an initial rent of £210,000 per annum. Mecca plans to create a bingo hall in a 1,625 sq m unit, for which it has agreed an initial rent of £122,465 per annum.
The second phase of the refurbishment will create more new units. JJB Sports will move into a new 1,200 sq m unit at £95,000 per annum. Poundland has agreed to take a 450 sq m unit at £72,000 per annum.
