Selfridges has increased the wages of its shop floor staff by more than 6%, Retail Week can reveal. 

The luxury department store has upped the hourly pay of its shop floor staff to £13.45 nationally and £14.80 in London as of April 1.

The rise is a 6.5% increase on the £12.62 increase it awarded in 2025, and puts Selfridges among the highest paying retailers in the UK, just 5p per hour below the likes of Aldi, and on par with Lidl and Ikea. 

London workers will see their hourly wage rise by 6.8% from £13.85. 

The pay rise will sit alongside the retailer’s reward package, which includes bonus and commission schemes, discounted gym memberships, and a 25% employee discount. 

Selfridges joins a wave of retailers announcing above minimum-wage pay increases for shop floor staff, including B&Q, Primark, and Currys, in recent months.
