Amazon boosts its UK market share

Amazon has increased its share in the UK e-commerce market according to new research.

The online giant’s ecommerce market share rose from 28.8% in 2018 to 30.1% in 2019 – accounting for $30bn (£23bn) in revenue.

Online market place eBay was second to Amazon with a 9.8% share of the UK online market the research from Edge by Ascential revealed.

Grocers Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Asda followed with 4.6%, 4.5% and 3.9% respectively. John Lewis made it to the top five with a 3.6% share of the UK’s ecommerce market.
