Bathstore.com aims for 90 shops

Bathrooms specialist Bathstore.com plans to grow its store portfolio by almost 50 per cent in a year.

The Wolseley subsidiary has launched an expansion drive with a requirement for 30 more outlets this year, on top of its existing 63 shops.

Two new agents have been brought in to acquire sites across the UK. Hartnell Taylor Cook is covering London, the Southeast, the Southwest and south Wales, while Harrogate-based Mitchell Roberts is dealing with the Midlands, the north of England, north Wales and Scotland.

The retailer's typical store format is between 2,500 sq ft and 4,000 sq ft (230 sq m and 370 sq m). Bathstore.com trades from a wide range of locations, including retail and trade parks, in-town, out-of-town, edge-of-town and roadside sites.

Hartnell Taylor Cook partner Dermot Morrogh-Ryan said: 'Bathstore.com is fairly flexible in its positioning within a town. Providing the store is visually prominent and has good parking, it will consider a variety of locations.'
