Waterstone's has reorganised its regional structure to allow better dissemination of best practice from the chain's 27 superstores.
The superstore division will be merged into the overall regional structure, and the North/South regional split will be replaced by three: North & Eire, South and East.
Operations director Nick Williams said: 'The focus we have given to the superstores over the past two years has paid real dividends. This structure will allow us to share the best practice we have established.'
The academic stores will be treated separately to provide them with a focus previously afforded to the superstores.
