Tsum undergoes design overhaul

Moscow's main shopping centre, Tsum, is undergoing a design overhaul. The first phase of work on the 100-year-old, 360,000 sq ft (33,445 sq m) building - located in Red Square - is expected to be complete by the end of the year. Mercury, the owners, have appointed New York's Point Design to carry out the work, and are also planning to invest in an expansion of the site in the future. Mercury hopes the investment will reinforce the Tsum brand and enable it to be transferred to other Russian cities. An update on the design blueprint for the centre's extension is expected to be completed soon.
