Monsoon Accessorize has appointed Debenhams’ former business systems controller Andy Tudor to spearhead its IT strategy.

Tudor, who had worked at Debenhams since 2013, joined Monsoon Accessorize last month as its new head of IT.

His appointment came shortly before Monsoon Accessorize appointed its first ever chief customer officer this month and installed Paul Allen as its permanent chief executive in January.

The struggling fashion retailer reported “very disappointing” full-year results earlier this week, when EBITDA plunged 59% to £19.3m and total sales fell 8.6% to £434m.

A spokeswoman for Monsoon Accessorize said that Tudor would report to the retailer’s IT and ecommerce director John Bovill.

Tudor will oversee the fashion retailer’s IT strategy, delivery and budget in his new role.

Prior to joining Monsoon Accessorize, he worked in various business systems roles at Debenhams and has previously worked for Karen Millen, Aurora Fashions, Oasis and WHSmith.

Tudor’s job title was previously held by Pete Byrne, although it is not immediately clear whether Tudor has replaced Byrne.
