WHSmith share price crash highlights scale of turnaround job facing Leo Quinn

WHSmith share price plummeted to a 17-year low this morning (September 16) as rising costs and travel disruption hit profits.

The retailer said in a pre-close trading update this morning that it expected its full year pre-tax profits to be £75m – the very bottom of its annual guidance and a sharp fall from the £108m in underlying profits reported in the 2024/25 financial year.
