TM Lewin to venture out of London

It took 105 years, but fashion retailer TM Lewin is ready to take its first steps outside London.

The family-owned business, most famous for selling shirts, will open on Manchester's King Street in November.

Managing director Geoff Quinn said the decision followed successful trading.

The retailer posted net turnover in excess of£20 million last year.

'We're a cautious bunch, but we feel it's time to expand. We're also looking at Birmingham and Glasgow,' he said.

A shop will also open in London's Canary Wharf in November, bringing store numbers to 14.

Separately, a suit range will be introduced for the first time in selected London stores.
